Eyelid surgery
Blepharoplasty is an operation that removes excess skin from the eyelids as is a result of age in order to achieve rejuvenation and restructuring. It is done in many cases for aesthetic reasons, but it is common that the sagging of the skin on the upper eyelids to be so severe that it narrows the patient’s field of vision. This short procedure (only an hour and a half) is a minimally invasive technique because it is performed under local anesthesia and the patient can then go home. The scar from this procedure is invisible because it is hidden in the natural crease of the upper eyelid.
The eyelids are an integral part of the facial expression. With the operation we avoid changes in the direction of the eyelashes and significant discomfort in the eyes, which preserves and cares for our eyesight. This removes the “heaviness,” tear, and redness that patients complain about. On the other hand, and on an aesthetic level, the “sacs” that appear with age give us the appearance of premature aging or tired eyes, which are often passed down from parents to children. Eyelid plastic surgery has a very natural rejuvenating effect without causing drastic changes and without any visible scars.
