Presbyopia

It is the difficulty of seeing up close that occurs in most people over the age of 40. We are increasingly losing the ability to adapt and focus on nearby objects. Myopia usually has presbyopia later and hyperopia earlier.

The main symptom is that nearby objects cannot be clearly seen. These appear fuzzy. Over time, the distance it takes to see clearly increases and we often have to change the strength of our glasses.

Treatment and benefits

Presbyopia can be corrected with medical (glasses) or surgical treatment using the PRELEX technique, which has a number of advantages:

  • Allows correction of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism at the same time.
  • It is not painful as the incision is very small.
  • Quick recovery.
  • Without hospitalization.
  • We operate on both eyes in the same procedure, which usually takes about 30 minutes.
